Free, no booking required.

We would like to invite you to this informal evening of presentations, discussion and critical debate at no.w.here in conjunction with Artists' Union England.

It is a perfect opportunity for anyone thinking about becoming a member of no.w.here or the Artists' Union England to find out more information and ask questions. Additionally, it is a space for anyone who wants to see changes in current conditions for artists to meet like-minded people in the sector and find out what we can do about creating better working conditions collectively.

There will also be chance to socialise, meet the organisers and discuss issues with fellow artists and cultural workers.

Some topics for discussion will be:

Working conditions in the arts
Creating alternative systems
How we can organise
Roles and possibilities of an artists' union
Artistsí and cultural workers rights

Do spread the word about the event and invite friends and peers who might be interested.

Artistsí Union England is a new trade union for professional visual and applied artists, launched on the 1st May 2014, set up entirely voluntarily by a group of artists from across the country. We launched with a three month grace period with no membership fee until the 1st of August and are inviting professional visual and applied artists to join.

All members who join before 1st July will be invited to take part in a collective decision making process to determine the annual membership fee and initial priorities of the union. This process has 2 parts - an online survey and a Members' Meeting on the 19th July, held at University College Union. From the 1st of August the membership fee agreed through this process will be payable by all members.

Artists' Union England is an opportunity to create a unique, sustainable and supportive infrastructure for artists, which is built by its members for its members.
