William Raban
Having been described ‘as one of the finest exponents of the genre known as Avant – garde Landscape film working in this country’, Raban’s recent practice combines elements of structural film language with documentary. His work has included expanded cinema, installations and work for television, much of it with a strong social and political undercurrent. Raban ran the London Filmmakers Co-Op Workshop from 1972 – 6 and has taught at North East London Polytechnic, Goldsmiths’ College, he is currently Reader in Film at the University of the Arts London. – Darren Green, LUX Online
