The event will present a narrative of Gemma's research on Pakistani contemporary art. It will especially focus on how the emergence of art worlds in territories such as Pakistan must inaugurate a revised understanding of political discourses in contemporary art that appear to be universal, but are in fact highly located in the Western European consciousness.
